Focus on the Criminals at the Crime Scene

Taking up where I left off…

Katja Herbers is a fellow Climate Emergency activist who uses her fame to rail against a very few criminals who must be charged at the World Court. At the earliest — immediately. Reason enough to join Twitter, a place where I also express deeply-held beliefs that are also enormously controversial (@billziegler1947). I draw a thick line in the sands of Palestine. This invisible line is visible when “filtered” thus:

Fossil-fuel behemoths are attempting Planetcide; there is no room on the table for minced mush and fact finagling in this matter. These are the guys with the smoking gun that never stops billowing the scent of gunpowder, the whiff of gasoline.

There are courtrooms large enough to contain each CEO. We need to see the kind of action that recently concluded in the January 6 hearings — at the very least. Those hearings resulted in some amazing rulings, but the ringleader is still at large in Florida, cowering and fuming in his ever mad state of mind. The 45th President’s deluded rantings were already pointing to another four years slashed from the already desperately-short time available when he swept himself down the escalator to the cheers of an adoring throng who had been paid $50 a head for the privilege of standing there with their useful vacant minds.

His fetid droppings have turned to an ash that now settles slowly in the waste bins of history, from this point forward, from this glance backward. But the four years are marked with a grubby label: “No returns accepted.”

Now is the time to convict all the fossil-fuel scoundrels who remain at the scene.

Perhaps Putin — who seems to be in a Mar-a-Lago of his own choosing at the moment— may wish to seek asylum in Palm Springs. The two deserve each other, they could share war stories. Vladimir could fondle his pet and coo his concern.

Full disclosure: Not for the squeamish. But climate catastrophe is presently rated a wholesome G: for all audiences. So make your own choices, but do not make them frivolously.

This is not the time to shrug, to dismiss climate “change” as one of those things we cannot alter. As if it would then disappear in the very act of wishing. “I want you to begone, and that will make it so?” Let’s say it’s another day in a Poor Richarde’s Almanac sort of way. Trivialize reality and see if it doesn’t trivialize you first.

And never let your attention be diverted by sleight-of-hand confidence artists who write in public-service-announcement guise. It’s still propaganda. Yes, Chevron, we know that you do not want a clean environment too.

Last Friday, as the Arctic Cyclone gave us one more reminder that climate change is always banally ignored, knowing that its presence has already been cold fact for some long time now.

Yesterday, I expressed the hope that this untoward air mass from Siberia might just be a harbinger of hope, that it might stir some Republican mind-fogged-space-fillers into an awakened state. No. Woke is for what they call “The Democrat Party”, the tree-huggers, the environmental wackos, the party-spoilers, hippies of the 1960s and 1970s, the ones who buried a car one day in April. The cruelest month.

Catastrophic Climate Collapse

Epictetus, Greek philosopher and former slave, formulated what today is known as the Serenity Prayer. Climate was once considered one of the things that you cannot change, now we know that it can be achieved. It’s just that it will require a billion or so climate activists to get Big Oil (they like to call themselves supermajors because that word sounds friendlier).

Catastrophic Climate Collapse (CCC) is inevitable if fossil-fuel behemoths are not curbed rapidly. Fudging the numbers is as effective as touching up a cancer victim’s x-rays.

On October 29, an enormously unhelpful opinion piece in the Washington Post — by their Editorial Board — posited that we need to kick back (my words) and stop worrying, that incremental measures just might happen in the upcoming Sharm El Sheikh Climate Summit. Well, it just might happen that some time in the next ten years I just might win a billion dollars in a lottery. These guys are not climate scientists, but they are speaking in a tone that I would expect to read in the New York Post. Their byline reads Democracy Dies in Darkness. Yes, it does. But faffing climate realities around in circles tells me that there are mushrooms gathering on their basement floors.

Yesterday, I reblogged my article about Wynn Bruce. I am highlighting one of its paragraphs today:

By 1973, the fossil-fuel industry had already known that catastrophic climate change was a scientifically proven fact in the face of inaction; however, the scientists working from within the fossil-fuel juggernauts were silenced before this information could be made available. Positions of power among corporations leading the Fortune 10 would lose profits if truths were told. In 1973, a gradual change could have allowed all involved parties to move carefully and deliberately over several decades to prevent what is now imminent. The 11th hour has passed. History will not judge us kindly for our inaction, each of us needs to accept the responsibility for setting the Earth on fire. Bruce Wynn knew this, you should too. Self-immolators are prophets.

Time is not our friend. Don’t hope for a Hail Mary pass to an end zone because this better approximates a chess match, and we are in the endgame.

Returning to Katja:

I have already taken too much time rearranging the proverbial deck chairs. So please consider becoming a climate activist. And please still remember 1973 for another reason. It is the year of an earlier 9/11: the assassination of Salvador Allende. Meanwhile, Henry Kissinger — the influencer who directed that “intervention” — becomes a centenarian on May 27, 2023.

I Am Still Honoring Wynn Bruce

billziegler1947 is not about a Bill Ziegler who was born in 1947. Not about him; it is a vehicle to provide support for the downtrodden and the dishonored — such as Mother Earth. I am merely the chauffeur. Unfortunately, simultaneous attacks of Crohn’s, psoriasis, and writer’s block have kept Bill on the sidelines. At the moment, he is feverishly writing about Catastrophic Climate Collapse.

The 6-3 decision by the Supreme Court conservative majority on February 28, 2022, questioned the legality of limiting carbon emissions to address climate catastrophe. Certainly, Wynn bruce chose self-immolation by fire on Earth Day 2022 at the steps of a conservative-led court to send a critically important message to anyone who would listen. I am listening to Wynn Bruce and am devoting this post to his life-affirming decision. This was a call to all, reminding us that we collectively choose to ignore impending doom’s certainty. This was not a suicide, this was a signal to each of us that inaction condemns this planet to certain extinction. This is not rhetorical excess, the fuse has already been lit.

Cause of Climate Change

The arrival of a climate change that was predicted to appear around 2050 has shown up several decades early, filling continent-sized areas in Europe, Asia, and North America. The water cycle is another critical system in the climatological tapestry.

The Columbia is only one system. Over 70% of the worlds rivers no longer flow free, to irrigate crops and produce hydroelectric power. The natural ecocycles of planet earth are effectively ruined.

And it appears now that hydroelectric power has a greater impact on the worlds carbon cycle than fuel powered generators. (1)

Irrigation traps the particulate matter in a never ending cycle, re-spreading it on the land over and over what should be washed out to sea and cycled.
